well this is different… i’m starting at the end and showing everything in reverse. oh well, some times it’s best that way. especially when there are the sweetest little piggies all painted in pink, wriggling and sifting through the sand! this is how we ended our day…dipping our tootsies in waves and enjoying the fresh ocean air.
oh wait, you want to see a face? okay, how about the face of a cherub…meet little miss O. i had been waiting for several months to meet little O and her brand new brother. mommy and daddy are truly inspiring…they teach their kids to travel early. and often! and they make the five hour (or more) journey to san luis obispo seem like a breeze. knowing that we’d have some free time while baby L was feeding, we added on a mini session for little-miss-2-year-old…
…and the mini session turned out to be a ‘day-in-the-life’ event. here’s what i first saw at the beginning of the day. those gorgeous eyes, that amazing hair, those incredibly adorable jammies…i knew it was going to be a good day!
and this is little L–with an equally amazing head of hair and the most serene personality ever! our session was timed around his arrival. while i do the majority of my newborn photography sessions on location, i love to shoot in my studio, too. and with this little guy i got the added bonus of venturing out to several fun locations here in San Luis Obispo as well!
in no time at all, little L will know this place as his “SLO House’. home away from home! i’m going to try to convince N & S to write about on ‘traveling with kiddos’…of course, i’ll happily provide the photographic demonstrations!

stumbled across this little Santa Cruz wedding chapel this weekend. check out the guests…they’re falling all over the place with excitement. or fear…it’s not every day a hunchback climbs down the belltower these days! :)

the following images were taken at the Chaminade…i’ll be photographing a couple of weddings there this year. not to mention enjoying the fabulous resort and spa a bit, too!

imagine my delight when i was asked to display images in the brand new offices of SLO Wellness Center. and then the surprise and utter glee to find that the office color is none other than MY favorite yummy green! (yes, i’m in heaven.)
as a newborn & maternity photographer, i have so many clients on the Central Coast who mention Dr. Molly–how amazing & helpful she is during pregnancies and sometimes even labor. dozens of other friends and clients also sing the praises of their chiropractors, Rex Stevens & Sandy Sachs. so to be a part of their new…and FABULOUS…office is truly a priviledge.
formerly California Wellness Center and Health & Motion, the two have now become SLO Wellness Center. to find out more about their specialties, you can find them HERE or call 805.543.8688.

i’ve gotten so many compliments on the framing in the past few days that i wanted to add in my favorite San Luis framer: Youngs Custom Framing. i’m always in awe of Sara’s expertise!!! (located in the Pacific Coast Center on the corner of Higuera & Madonna.

if you’ve been to my website, you’ll recognize this hat on one adorable little girlie. she happens to be–now–the big sister to little T.
and lookie who’s awake!!! happy girl is taking a peek to see what’s going on. :) (are those dimples to die for, or what!?)
this little blanket was one of my favorites, hand made by none-other-than the talented miss Andrea Rooks.
i kept hearing that little T looks so much different than her sister did at the ripe old age of 10 days…but i think the two will be peas in a pod in no time! just give her a chance to fill in her tiny little form and i’m sure the similarities will be seen. gorgeous beyond words.
just moments after…someone is skipping off to find adventure….

and last but not least, we had a moment where baby was feeding…so we escaped outside to ride the Rocking Dino. every girl needs her very own dinosaur…..

dimpled fingers…bright shiny new teeth…the most adorable, kissable toes you’ve ever seen! really, the second and third year of a child is so incredibly precious. i mean, come on…i don’t see too many parents kissing their tweenager’s toes or talking about how sweet they smell. :) once your babe is up on their feet, the chase begings. and so often, in all of the busy energy of a toddler’s life the details go uncaptured. that’s why i love it when moms call to have their inquisitive, bright eyed 2 year old’s portraits. at this age, they take on a more photojournalistic look because…gosh, there’s too much to do, to see, to touch to sit still for more than a second!
when i arrived at the home of little C i was met by bright jammies, big baby blue and the coolest craziest hair! like so many toddlers, there was always a car, a train…a lizard…clutched in his yummy little hands. in no time at all, the dimples, creases and folds will fill out and the transformation to ‘kid’ will be complete. but we have pictures to forever capture the perfection that is the 2 year old.
thanks for the fun, little C. i miss you already!

don’t be fooled, this little angel was not the least bit sleepy! ever so peaceful, yet oh so alert, miss MJ wanted to hang out and play all morning! maybe her big sister told her how funny her mommy and daddy were when we did her newborn pictures (nearly 2 years ago) and didn’t want to miss the show. or maybe she just liked me.
little did she know the patience i have! more to come…girlscouts honor.
